Both Mary Dyer and Harriet Jacobs were a huge part of America's success. Although they were oppressed badly many times becuase ofwho they were and what they believedc in, they made a stand for what they thought was right. Because Mary Dyer was a Quaker, she has been badly oppressed by other Puritans who have accussed her of preeching blasphemy. Harriet Jacobs was also oppressed becuase she was a slave and a woman at the same time. That meant that she was not only powerless, but was also vulnerable to any sexual abuse by their masters. In those times, some, but not all men looked at women as subordinates and only thought they lived to serve men.

Mary Dyer and Harriet Jacobs are both vivid examples of how Quakers and slaves were oppressed and discriminated against just because of who they are. Even though the two had lived during different time period, each had their own way of fighting for what they believed in. Dyer was a Quaker and she faced the gallows repeatedly because she fought for her beliefs but the Puritans thought of that as blasphemy. Dyer was a slave woman who had her childhood ruin when she met her new owner Dr. Norcom. She had eventually escaped but the process of doing this will always burn in her mind and when she wrote her book, she made it as an example for other slave woman.

Mary Dyer and Harriet Jacobs are both vivid examples of oppression and discrimination because of who they are and also what they believed in. Mary Dyer was someone because she became a Quaker, and Harriet Jacobs because she's a slave. They both were treated badly and unequally by other people. Even though they don't like it, they can't do anything about it. They also wanted to stand up for themselves and never fall down or give up. Even though they both lived in different time periods, they still got discriminated and oppressed. Them, being women could also cause discrimination and oppression.

Mary Dyer and Harriet jacobs were important parts of what has come out of this world. They both had faced many kinds of discrimination and has suffered through intolerable acts of others. Even though they've been through them, they had fought against it in many ways. Mary Dyer had fought back by not taking the reprieve given to her when she's about to be executed. She wanted to set a good example for the other people out there to follow. Shealso had returned to boston after many reminders of her being banished from the colony. Harriet Jacobs fought back by writing a book about her life as a slave girl. She talked about her sexually abuses by her master and the torture she's been through with him. She also wrote about the other things in her life and the relationship she had with a white lawyer to escape from her master. As you can see, both women had fought back and faced discrimination in many ways. Even though they were both in groups that were meant to be discriminated by others, they didn't wither at the idea. She stood proud, brave and strong to reach out to others, to follow their own beliefs.

Mei, when you said Mary Dyer faced the gallows repeatedly, i think you should like say that she was not hanged but was reprevied. It sounds like she was going to be hanged everytime she faced the gallows.
Actually, i don't really know if you need to say she was repreived.

Mary Dyer and Harriet Jacobs are vivid examples of how Quakers and slaves have been oppressed or discriminated against just because of who they are. Mary Dyer and Harriet Jacobs were both women and did not get the same respect as men would. They were also different from the other because they think difference and people set a different treatment against them. Mary Dyer live back in the 1600s and Harriet Jacobs lived in the 1800s but they got similar treatments and went through similar intolerance. They both had to risk their lives to change the strict law of intolerance.
EVERYONE DID A NICE JOB BUT DAVID, when there is I, you are not the man no more!!!
